New Principals Appointed

New Principals Appointed

It’s with great pleasure that we announce Mark Holmes and Melissa Edwards have been appointed as Principals. Over the years Mark and Melissa have both contributed to and led a number of key projects, displaying strong collaborative and leadership skills. The work they have produced during this time has been of the highest standard, and we’re regularly surprised and delighted by what they are able to develop alongside our clients.

Mark and Melissa are joining the current Principals of Pynenburg & Collins: Joanne Kelly, Jody Seabright, Ken Collins and Ron Pynenburg.

Mark has been with us for 18 years, after joining Pynenburg & Collins as an Architectural Technician in 2003. Mark’s passion for creating better built environments alongside his technical knowledge and expertise make him invaluable in ensuring the success of our clients’ projects.

Becoming an Associate in 2016, Mark has been instrumental in our most complex laboratory and science facility projects, as well as a number of off-the-grid projects in extreme environments. Mark’s portfolio includes Powell Hut for the Department of Conservation, Victoria University’s Coastal Ecology Laboratory, and work to Antarctica New Zealand’s Scott Base, just to name a few.

Mark specialises in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Drawing Management. His strong technical skills and attention to detail ensure design concepts are implemented to a high standard with clear and thorough documentation.

Melissa joined the Pynenburg & Collins team in 2012, becoming an Associate in 2016. Her wealth of experience working with large cross-discipline teams and leading major commercial and laboratory projects has made her invaluable to our practice.

With an affinity for developing design solutions and guiding people through the journey, Melissa helps our clients visualise and discover an option they wouldn’t have previously considered. Her designs capture the unique requirements of every project in a thoughtful, human-centric way.

Melissa has contributed to and led a number of key projects for our sister company, Lab-works, including the Faculty of Engineering and Science Centre for Auckland University, and she’s currently leading the new University of Otago Christchurch Campus Redevelopment Project.

The biggest congratulations to Mark and Melissa and thank you for your many years of hard work and significant contribution to the practice!
