Meet Rex and Fiona De Ryke

After the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, Fiona and Rex decided to put their energy towards the repair and renovation of number One Huntsbury Avenue. Sitting atop Huntsbury hill and overlooking Christchurch with almost 270 degree views, the house saw major groundwork renovations as well as extensions and internal reconfiguration. 

So how did they feel about the project? After finding Pynenburg & Collins through a mutual connection and completing the build a year and a half later, they say that collectively ‘we all got it right’.

“Well, what I love about the house is its simplicity. Its classic lines, with an ode to its heritage. The amazing views we have that we've tried to utilise by its position as number one on the hill. And I think it looks like it's always been like this and when you recognise it hasn't been, that makes sense. Yeah, we got it right.”
